Hairy Wood Brome

  • Short-lived, cool season perennial bunchgrass; 3-4ft tall

  • Dark green foliage turns golden-brown in autumn; stems droop due to large seed count

  • This tall, part-shade loving grass makes a great selection for glades and woodland gardens

  • Seeds are sought after by various animals including songbirds, wild turkey, rabbits and deer

  • Due to its short-lived nature, can be outcompeted by other natives; spreads primarily via seed
