Pennsylvania Sedge

Grown from seed

  • Semi-evergreen, perennial sedge; 6-12in tall

  • Puts on most of its growth in the cooler seasons; grows well in both full sun and full shade

  • Short, flowing foliage makes for excellent ground cover; acts as green mulch for nearby taller plants by cooling soil & outcompeting weeds

  • Deep roots prevent soil erosion & stablize hillsides

  • Songbirds, game birds, and small mammals forage on seeds in fall/winter

  • Spreads slowly via rhizomes, forming dense mats
