  • Five-petaled pinkish-purple flowers; blooms spring to early summer

  • Attracts various butterflies, moths (white-marked tussock, leafmining moth, bridled arches, tobacco budworm, etc.) & bees including Andrena distans, a specialist pollinator

  • Great ground cover for woodland/shady gardens

  • Spreads non-aggressively via seed dispersal and rhizomes
