  • White, sometimes pinkish, flowers with yellow discs; pronounced curling of dead foliage; blooms in autumn

  • Highly beneficial pollen and nectar source in late fall; attracts large numbers of pollinators including bumblebees, butterflies, moths and skippers; supports specialist bees including various mining bees and Colletes simulans, the spine-shouldered cellophane bee

  • Host plant to the Pearl Crescent; supports specialist bees including various mining bees and Colletes simulans, the spine-shouldered cellophane bee

  • Can spread aggressively via seed and rhizomes; can form dense colonies
